Mr. Carter obtained a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1972. In 1973, he began working as a Drilling and Production Engineer with Texaco, Inc. Subsequently, Mr. Carter entered into a 24 year career working with Marathon Oil from 1976 to 2000. Starting as a Drilling Foreman in Louisiana and advancing into international drilling operations in London and Aberdeen, U.K., he was responsible for drilling-completion procedures in onshore Nigeria, as well as North Sea platform drilling facilities. In 1985, Mr. Carter became Drilling Engineering Supervisor for Marathon’s onshore and offshore wells in various international locations, including Australia, Egypt, Indonesia, Ireland, Syria and Gabon, as well as drilling operations in the Arctic region offshore of Sakhalin Island, Russia. Beginning in 2000, Mr. Carter worked as a contract engineer for several firms in Houston, including PPI Technology Services, and joined Yuma in 2008. (Experience: 36 years)
